First Wedding of 2016 Season

The Silver Grey Jag's first outing of the year was for Amy and Alan's wedding at St Micheal's church in the pretty riverside village of Bray. The church boasts a lychgate dating back to 1448.
After the ceremony and photos we drove the couple to Lillebrooke Manor, near Maidenhead.

Make That a Double in Hurley

Of three wedding receptions in Hurley village this Saturday we provided cars for two of them.

The Silver Grey Jaguar MK2 collected Jessica and her Father from Marlow for the short drive to St John's in Little Marlow where Jessica married Toby. After the ceremony we drove the couple, followed by the guests in a Routemaster bus, to Monks Barn Hurley.

Vineyards and Barns

This weekend Mark & Sarah's wedding had a vineyard theme as Sarah stayed at Luxters B&B, which is on a vineyard, the night before the wedding. Following the ceremony at Henley Town Hall their reception was held at Stanlake Vineyard in Twyford. They travelled in the Daimler.

Rebecca and Christopher booked the Jaguar MK2 for their wedding at Windsor Guildhall. The car attracted the tourist cameras while waiting outside. After the ceremony we drove to the Long Walk for photos before heading over to Saxons Barn on the outskirts of Windsor.

Winkfield Wedding

The Daimler and Jaguar made their first visit to St Mary's church Winkfield this weekend for Jenny and Dan's marriage. (This is a good church if you are a campanologist, after ringing the bells as the bride arrived they retreated to the pub opposite until emerging 35 minutes later for the post ceremony ringing.) We picked Jenny, her father and bridesmaids up from Phyllis Court Henley for the 30 minute drive to Winkfield. A coach was provided for the guests. After the ceremony everyone returned to Phyllis Court for the reception in the newly rebuilt riverside pavilion.

Henley Wedding

Our Jaguar MK2 was booked for Emma and Chris' wedding in a sunny and warm Henley this weekend. We picked Emma up from Danesfield House Hotel a short distance form Henley.
After the ceremony at the Town Hall we drove to the river where they had a few reportage style snaps taken amongst the many visitors to the town.
The reception was at Luscombes at the Golden Ball in Lower Assendon, a regular haunt of Mr and Mrs Henley Classic Car Hire.

A Real Morse in our Jag

Morse
Our Morse look-a-like Jaguar was booked by bride Catherine as a surprise for her husband to be Peter for their wedding in Henley. Catherine was very specific about the car she wanted as Peter's surname is Morse and he is a fan of the TV series. We picked Catherine up from Danesfield House Hotel near Marlow. The wedding was held at the hidden Holy Trinity Church in Henley then it was back to Danesfield with a happy Peter for the reception.

Deja vu
Only two weeks after our last visit we were back at Barton House and Lain's Barn, this time in the Daimler for Ruth and Martin's wedding. The family stayed at Barton House which is very close to the barn. I got to see a bit more of the inside this time. It is definitely worthy of being on the list for anyone looking for exclusive use accommodation in the Wantage area. After dressing cars in Ruth's choice of Burgundy ribbons we drove to St Margaret's Church in Stratton St Margaret near Swindon for the wedding. Their reception was held at Lain's Barn.

Boat Transfer
The Silver Grey MK2 was also working at the weekend providing transport for Judith and Ian's wedding in Warborough. The Jag made several trips from nearby Shillingford and Wallingford to take the wedding party and Bride to St Laurence's Church. After photos we drove the newlyweds to Cleeve Lock near Streatley where they picked up a boat to take them to the reception.

Riverside Wedding

The Jag didn't have to travel too far for Alex and Peter's wedding this weekend, making two trips from Henley to the riverside church in Remenham. The car wasn't needed for the short journey to the Remenham Club for the reception as the couple traveled by boat. We did wait for the ceremony to complete so that Alex and Peter could have some pictures with the car before taking the short walk to join the boat.

June and Darren's Wedding in Abingdon

The Daimler returned to Oxford this weekend to collect Bride June from Wolvercote for the journey to Abingdon for her marriage to Darren. The ceremony was held at Trinity Church, a church we have done a few weddings at now. After the wedding and photos we took the champagne sipping newlyweds for a short drive around town then down the road that runs alongside the Thames before arriving at the riverside Upper Reaches hotel where the reception was held.

Weekend of Weddings

A busy weekend started on Friday with Michael and Kathryn's wedding in Marlow. They booked the Jaguar for the Bridal car and the Daimler for the Bridesmaids. The location made for some nice pictures as did the reception venue, Bix Manor.

Then onto Saturday. The Daimler was in Oxford at Oriel College for Alex and Paul's wedding who held their reception at the family home in Headington. The Jaguar was in Kidmore End for Naval Groom Adam's marriage to Katharine. Maintaining a nautical theme we dropped them off at Leander in Henley where they made the last leg of the journey to their reception at Temple Island by boat. Last but no means least the Morse Jag was also in Henley for Phil and Holly's wedding in the Town Hall. They then traveled to the Crooked Billet in Stoke Row for their reception.

Our Jag in Art Film

As well as providing wedding transport this weekend our Jaguar MK2 has been making an appearance in an Art Movie produced for Brockman's Gin

The Jag in an alley close to Tower Bridge
The film is shot in black & white with a sinister feel and unusual characters throughout. The Jaguar features in a number of scenes relating to what appears to be the kidnapping of a young man by a group of gangsters. He is driven through the dark iconic streets of London to a shadowy warehouse to meet his fate.

We spent two nights around Tower Bridge and at a Studio in North West London finishing in the early hours only to rise again early to prep the Jag for Katie and Henk's wedding in Wargrave.

The film should be on Brockman's web site and YouTube around November time and we will be adding a link to it from our web site. You can see some behind the scenes pictures on Brockman's Blog.

Weddings in Oxford, Marlow and Slough

A busy weekend, Kamella and Stuart booked the Jaguar for their wedding in Marlow followed by our Evening Service to take them from the reception at Le Manoir to their London Home. Shinki and Idrees hired the Daimler to take them to their evening reception at Baylis House in Slough and Mark and Sarah booked the Daimler for their wedding in Oxford.

We picked up Sarah from Malmaison together with a replica Ford "T" Limo from another company to convey the Bridesmaids. We encountered a Hen Party whilst waiting outside the hotel which caused a brief amusing distraction. The ceremony was held at St Andrews in Headington. Headington must have been a charming little village before it was swallowed up by expanding Oxford. It has narrow streets lined with characterful properties and traditional pubs. After the ceremony we drove the newlyweds to the reception which was held at a vineyard near Shillingford.

Riverside Reception for Jack and Eloise

The Jag was in the pretty village of Berrick Salome this weekend for Jack and Eloise's wedding. St Helen's Church is a short drive from Eloise's parents home and is located at the end of a track and surrounded by fields. Dating from the 12th century, this really is an attractive and unusual church in an idyllic setting. Following the ceremony and photos at the church we drove the newlyweds to their riverside retreat in Wargrave where they held the reception.

Gypsophila in Richmond

Once or twice a year we are booked for weddings in West London, this is about as far into the capital we normally go. This weekend we were in sunny Richmond in the Jaguar MK2, picking up Nicola from the riverside boutique Bingham hotel to take her to Grove House via Richmond Park for her marriage to Chris. Nicola arranged for some additional decoration on the car in the form of white Gypsophila.
